Ellisiana Red Hardy Water Lily
Plant Description
Ellisiana is a delightful red, hardy waterlily that is small to medium in size. The 4 - 5 inch pads of Ellisiana are green and oval in shape with a hint of red in the pads. This waterlily is a hybrid of Latour-Marliac and is free flowering and the four inch blooms are stellate in shape. This a perfect choice for small to medium ponds or container gardens and has a 24 - 30 inch spread. Ellisiana prefers cooler climates, as it slows down flower production in extreme heat.
Planting Instructions
Plant your Ellisiana Hardy Waterlily in a wide, shallow container using loam soil. (Please see our recipe for loam soil on our home page.) Keep the crown of the plant above the soil. Place Ellisiana Waterlily 6 - 15 inches beneath the surface of the water in full sun. Never place rocks in or on the planting container as this may hinder the growth of your waterlily.
*Fertilize throughout the summer months for robust plants and best bloom!
